Emmanuel Mtewele was born in 1996 at Consolata Ikonda Hospital in Tanzania to Mr. Mario Mtewele and Mrs. Josepha Mgaya. From an early age, he was nurtured in faith, education, and a spirit of service, values that have continued to shape his vocation and life.
Emmanuel completed his primary education in 2010. In 2011, he joined Matola Minor Seminary, where he undertook Pre-Form One studies. From 2012 to 2015, he pursued his Ordinary Level education at Mafinga Minor Seminary, and from 2016 to 2018, he completed his Advanced Level studies at the same institution.
Following his secondary education, Emmanuel began his Propaedeutic Year from 2018 to 2019. During this period, he had the opportunity to serve and gain pastoral experience at Uliwa Parish, Madunda Catechetical Center, and Kilocha Seminary. These experiences deepened his understanding of pastoral ministry and strengthened his desire to serve God and His people.
In 2019, Emmanuel joined Peramiho Major Seminary, where he undertook philosophical and theological studies in preparation for priestly ministry. His formation has been marked by prayer, study, pastoral service, and a growing commitment to accompanying others in faith.
Currently, Emmanuel has completed his pastoral year at Dorotea Orphanage Center, where he has had the privilege of serving and working closely with children. This experience has further enriched his understanding of compassion, human dignity, community, and the call to serve others with love.
Interests and Ministry
Emmanuel’s interests and activities reflect his desire to grow spiritually and contribute meaningfully to the lives of others. His hobbies include:
- Prayer and the cultivation of a deeper spiritual life
- Reading spiritual literature
- Singing in the choir
- Working with children
- Gardening
- Writing reflections and articles
- Community service
Emmanuel looks forward with hope and gratitude to being ordained to the Sacred Order of Deacons and, God willing, to the priesthood in 2027. He desires to dedicate his life to serving God and His people through prayer, pastoral ministry, compassion, and faithful Christian witness.
His journey continues to be guided by the conviction that a vocation is ultimately a call to love, serve, and accompany others on their journey toward God.
