This past Ash Wednesday brought with it an unexpected blessing. The newly appointed Bishop made an impromptu visit to our beloved Upendo Village—a surprise that quickly turned into a memorable occasion for all of us.
Fr. Mgaya warmly received the Bishop and took it upon himself to personally guide him through the village. As they walked, Father offered a running commentary, passionately explaining the various aspects of our community while the Bishop listened intently, asking thoughtful questions along the way.
When it came time for the Bishop to address us, his words carried a mix of warmth, encouragement, and vision. He spoke highly of our efforts and the spirit of unity that defines Upendo Village. What truly stirred our hearts, however, was his declaration that he sees a bright future for us—one that includes the transformation of our humble village into a fully established parish.
It was uplifting news. In a time marked by reflection and renewal, his words felt like a sign of hope and affirmation. The idea of Upendo Village becoming a full-fledged parish fills us with pride, motivation, and a renewed sense of purpose.
We hold onto that promise with grateful hearts and look forward to the journey ahead.
